Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels (HMoW) provides hot, nutritious meals and regular personal contact for people like:

Mr. K

Had a stroke at a young age that left him permanently disabled. Now in his 40's, single and living alone, Mr. K. uses a cane to slowly get around. He cannot cook safely and relies on the daily delivery by a HMoW volunteer for his one hot meal each day.

Mrs. R

was found lying on a mattress in her home of 60 years. Thin, frail, and unable to leave her home, she needed food to nourish her body. Mrs. R. had been alone for a long time and was wary of strangers. When HMoW volunteers began delivering a daily meal, she rarely came out of her bedroom. Gradually, the volunteers befriended Mrs. R. who now comes ot the door to greet them with a shy smile.

Without Hawai‘i Meals on wheels, many of our clients would be at risk of losing their independence and would need to be placed in a more restrictive environment.
